Sharon finds inspiration on a New England hike.

About the Artist

A resident of Foxboro for over 30 years, Sharon White began oil painting just 5 years ago. With no prior formal training, just a desire to learn, Sharon began oil painting instructions with artist Rosemarie Morelli at her Walpole studio in March of 2018. Just 2 short years into her training, the pandemic brought about serious challenges but Rosemarie’s classes continued with virtual lessons and then a tent for outdoor sessions until the studio could reopen safely. In late 2021, Sharon began working with Charlie Guay, a local Mansfield artist, as a mentor to augment her art training.

Sharon specializes in New England landscapes that will draw you from the mountains to the coast and through every field of flowers along the way. Her grandchildren are also among her favorite subjects.

Sharon’s Owl’s Head Lighthouse won Best in Show at Foxboro Art Association’s Fall 2022 Members Show at the Artist’s Studio and Gallery in Patriot Place. Her works have been displayed at member shows at the Attleboro Art Museum, Art in the Park in Norwood, and on several occasions at the Artist’s Studio and Gallery in Foxboro. Her work was selected for display at the Morini Gallery in the Massachusetts Arts Center in Mansfield.

Sharon is newly retired and serves as the Vice President of the Foxboro Art Association, as well as volunteering with Boy Scouts of America. In addition to the peace that she finds while painting, Sharon also enjoys kayaking, playing cards, and spending time with her family including 5 grandchildren and her cats, Obie and Misty.
